Dentistry that works for children
Children who feel safe and comfortable at the dentist grow into adults who look after their teeth. We take the time to build that trust from the very first visit, no matter how young.
Our dentists are experienced at working with children of all ages, from toddlers coming in for their very first look around to teenagers needing more involved treatment. We go at the child's pace, explain everything in a way that makes sense to them, and never rush.
A good experience at the dentist in childhood is one of the best things you can give your child's long-term health.
We also work closely with parents throughout every appointment. If you have concerns about your child's teeth, their bite, or how their adult teeth are coming through, we will give you honest, straightforward guidance on what to watch and when to act.
Signs your child needs to see a dentist
Some signs are obvious, others easy to miss. If you notice any of these, book an appointment sooner rather than later.
01
Toothache or pain
Any pain in a tooth or jaw should be seen promptly. In children, toothache is often a sign of decay that has reached the nerve. The sooner we see them, the more options we have.
02
Visible decay or dark spots
Brown or black marks on your child's teeth, or white chalky patches on the enamel, are early warning signs of decay. Catching them early means simpler treatment and less discomfort.
03
Adult teeth coming through crooked
It is normal for adult teeth to look a little crowded at first, but if teeth are growing at unusual angles or in the wrong position, it is worth a check. Early monitoring means we can act at the right time.
04
Sensitivity to hot or cold
If your child winces when eating something cold or hot, that is worth investigating. Sensitivity can indicate early decay, enamel wear, or an exposed root that needs prompt attention.
Ready to book your child in?
Whether it is their first visit or they have not been for a while, we will make sure they feel comfortable and leave with a smile.
Treatments for children
We offer a full range of children's dental care, from their very first check-up through to their teenage years.
Check-ups
Regular check-ups from an early age let us catch problems early and help your child feel comfortable with the dentist from the start.
Fillings for baby teeth
Baby teeth matter. A small filling can save a tooth, prevent pain, and hold space for the adult tooth coming through.
Extractions
When a baby tooth needs to come out, we do it gently under local anaesthetic and explain everything to your child beforehand.
Check-ups and monitoring
We monitor tooth position, spacing, and development as adult teeth come through, and advise clearly if anything needs attention.
Fillings for adult teeth
Decay in a new adult tooth can be treated quickly with a tooth-coloured filling, keeping it healthy and avoiding more complex work later.
Orthodontic monitoring
We keep an eye on jaw and tooth development and refer for orthodontic treatment at the right time if needed.
Fissure sealants
A thin protective coating applied to the grooves of back teeth makes them far easier to keep clean and significantly reduces decay risk.
Fluoride treatments
A fluoride varnish strengthens enamel and reduces decay risk, applied during routine check-ups for children who would benefit.
Brushing and diet advice
We give both children and parents clear, practical advice on brushing and diet. Simple habits made early make a real difference for life.

Book appointment
We recommend bringing your child along as soon as their first tooth appears, or around their first birthday at the latest. Early visits are not about treatment — they are about getting your child familiar with the environment, the chair, and the team, so that dentistry becomes normal and unfrightening from the very start.
Very carefully. We never rush a nervous child. We take time to explain what we are doing in simple, friendly terms, let them look at the instruments before anything goes in their mouth, and always stop if they need a break. If your child has had a bad experience elsewhere, just let us know when you book and we will take extra care.
For most children we recommend every six months. Children's teeth change quickly and decay can progress faster than in adults, so regular check-ups mean we catch any problems early. We will advise you on the right interval based on your child's individual needs.
Yes. Baby teeth hold the space for adult teeth and play a crucial role in speech development, eating, and confidence. Decay in baby teeth can cause pain and infection, and losing them too early can affect how the adult teeth come through. Looking after them properly matters.
Absolutely. Parents are welcome throughout every appointment. Having you there can make a big difference to how settled your child feels, especially on early visits. As children get older and more confident, some prefer to come in on their own — but that is always their choice, never ours.
Children's check-ups start from £35. If your child is on our family membership plan, check-ups are included as part of the plan. We will always be upfront about any costs before treatment, and nothing is carried out without your consent.
