The basics

What are same day teeth?

Same day teeth — also known as All-on-4 or All-on-6 — is a procedure that replaces an entire arch of missing or failing teeth with a fixed, implant-supported bridge, all in a single appointment.

Rather than replacing each missing tooth individually, four to six implants are strategically placed into the jaw bone to support a full arch of teeth. A temporary but fully functional bridge is fitted on the same day as your implants, so you leave the practice with a complete smile.

You come in without teeth and leave with a fixed smile. For many patients, same day teeth is genuinely life-changing.

The final, permanent bridge is fitted once the implants have fully integrated with the bone, typically three to six months later. Unlike dentures, there is nothing to remove, nothing to soak, and nothing that can slip or click. You eat, speak, and smile exactly as you would with natural teeth.

What we offer

Same day teeth treatments we provide

From four implants to a full mouth restoration, we offer a range of fixed arch solutions. Dr Abdul Osman will recommend the most suitable option at your consultation.

All-on-4 dental implants 01

All-on-4

A full arch of fixed teeth supported by four strategically angled implants. The angled placement maximises contact with available bone, making it suitable for most patients without the need for grafting.

All-on-6 dental implants 02

All-on-6

Two additional implants provide greater stability and load distribution across the arch. The preferred option where bone density is higher or a more robust long-term foundation is required.

Full mouth restoration with dental implants 03

Full Mouth Restoration

Where both the upper and lower arches need replacing, implants can be placed in both jaws, each supported independently. The result is a complete set of fixed teeth that function exactly like natural ones.

04

With Bone Grafting

Patients who have experienced significant bone loss after tooth loss may need a bone graft before implants can be placed. Dr Abdul has completed the advanced surgical masters in bone regeneration and handles this in-house.

Implant-retained dentures as an alternative 05

Not sure? Consider implant-retained dentures

If a fully fixed arch is not the right fit for your situation, implant-retained dentures offer a more accessible stepping stone — held firmly by two to four implants, but still removable for cleaning.

Implant placement and temporary bridge

Implant placement and temporary bridge

Under local anaesthetic, any remaining teeth are removed if needed and four to six implants are placed precisely into the jaw bone. A temporary but fully functional bridge is then attached to the implants on the same day. You leave the practice with a complete, fixed set of teeth. Most patients are surprised by how manageable the procedure feels throughout.

Half to full day
03

Healing and osseointegration

Healing period

Over the following three to six months, the jaw bone fuses with the implants in a process called osseointegration. During this time you will be wearing your temporary bridge, eating and speaking normally. We check in with you at regular review appointments to monitor healing and ensure everything is progressing as expected.

Final bridge fitting

Final bridge fitting

Once the implants have fully integrated, the temporary bridge is replaced with your final, permanent bridge. This is custom-made to match the shape, shade, and proportion of natural teeth. It is secured firmly to the implants, checked carefully for fit and bite, and adjusted as needed. The result is a complete, fixed set of teeth that looks and functions exactly like your own.

You are missing all or most of your teeth

Same day teeth is designed for patients who have lost a full arch of teeth, or who have remaining teeth that are failing and cannot be restored. It can be placed in the upper arch, the lower arch, or both.

2 of 6

You want a fixed, permanent result

Same day teeth is the right choice if you want teeth that are fixed in place, require no removal, and feel as close to natural as possible. If a removable option suits you better, implant-retained dentures may be more appropriate.

You are in good general health

As same day teeth involves placing multiple implants in a single procedure, good general health is important. Most common conditions are not a barrier, but we review your full medical history at the consultation to confirm suitability.

You have adequate jaw bone

The All-on-4 technique is specifically designed to work with reduced bone volume by angling the implants for maximum contact. Many patients who have been told they lack bone are still good candidates. Where bone loss is more significant, grafting is an option Dr Abdul can discuss with you.

You are a non-smoker, or willing to stop

Smoking significantly increases the risk of implant failure. We ask all patients to stop smoking before treatment and throughout the healing period. We will not carry out the procedure while a patient is actively smoking.

You are committed to the process and aftercare

Same day teeth is a significant treatment with a healing period of three to six months before your final bridge is fitted. Attending review appointments, following aftercare guidance, and maintaining good oral hygiene are all essential to a long-lasting result.

Know the difference

All-on-4 vs All-on-6

Both replace a full arch of teeth using implants in a single procedure. The difference comes down to how many implants are used, and what that means for stability, bone requirements, and cost.

Greater stability

All-on-6

Six implants placed per arch, distributed evenly for maximum stability. The additional implants spread biting forces more widely, making this the preferred choice where bone density allows.

Implants per arch 6
Bone requirement Higher
Greater load distribution across the arch
Enhanced long-term stability
Fixed teeth placed on the same day
Preferred option where bone density is good
Requires adequate bone volume throughout the arch
Higher cost than All-on-4

Same day teeth — also known as All-on-4 or All-on-6 — involves placing four or six implants into the jaw bone and attaching a fixed temporary bridge on the same day. You arrive without teeth and leave with a complete, functional set. After a healing period of three to six months, the temporary bridge is replaced with your final, custom-made bridge.

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you will not feel pain during treatment. As it is a more extensive procedure than a single implant, some swelling and discomfort in the days afterwards is to be expected. Most patients find this very manageable with the pain relief we recommend. Dr Abdul and the team will give you full aftercare guidance before you leave.

Yes, but with some care during the healing period. For the first few months we advise a soft diet to avoid placing excessive force on the implants while they integrate with the bone. Most patients adapt quickly and find this far preferable to having no teeth or wearing removable dentures. Once your final bridge is fitted, you can eat a fully normal diet.

The All-on-4 technique is specifically designed to work with reduced bone volume by angling the rear implants for maximum contact. Many patients who have been told they lack bone are still suitable candidates. Where bone loss is more significant, grafting is an option. Dr Abdul has completed the world-renowned advanced surgical masters in bone regeneration with Prof Istvan Urban and will assess your bone levels with a detailed scan at your consultation.

Same day teeth is fixed permanently to implants — it does not move, slip, or require adhesive. It also preserves the jaw bone, whereas conventional dentures sit on the gum and allow the bone to continue shrinking over time. Dentures typically need replacing every five to eight years as the jaw changes shape; same day teeth, with proper care, can last a lifetime.

There is no upper age limit. Many of our same day teeth patients are in their 60s, 70s, and beyond, and they do extremely well. What matters is your general health and bone levels, not your age. We will assess both fully at your consultation and always give you an honest, clear picture of your suitability before any treatment is planned.

The cost depends on whether you need treatment for one arch or both, which technique is most suitable, and whether any preparatory treatment such as extractions or bone grafting is required. We will give you a full, itemised quote at your consultation before any treatment begins. If you have questions about fees or payment options, our team is very happy to talk it through with you.
